In a move seen as a step towards stability following weeks of regional tension, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially resumed its men’s domestic cricket schedule. The decision was announced after a pause in cricketing activity due to recent conflict between Pakistan and India, which had disrupted life in the region.
Grassroots cricket has resumed across the country, with the Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup and the Inter-District U19 One-Day Tournament restarting under the updated calendar. The PCB said the decision reflects its commitment to keeping domestic cricket active despite the difficult circumstances.
Another key development is the return of the President’s Trophy Grade II, which is scheduled to resume on May 14. The competition plays a key role in the domestic structure, providing opportunities for upcoming and semi-professional players aiming to progress to higher levels.

According to the PCB’s revised plan, the quarter-finals of the tournament will be held from May 19 to 21, followed by the semi-finals from May 24 to 26. The final is set to take place between May 28 and 31.
While the resumption of domestic events is a major development, the PCB is also preparing to address other pressing matters. A decision regarding the postponed Pakistan Super League (PSL) and future international fixtures is expected shortly.
The return of domestic cricket is being welcomed by fans and players alike as a sign of progress. In a country where cricket holds deep emotional value, the revival of the sport during uncertain times has been seen as a symbol of hope and resilience.
As the situation stabilises, the PCB appears focused not only on restarting tournaments but also on restoring a sense of normalcy through the game.
