Diamond Paints, Master Paints lifted the Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup 2026 trophy after a tense 5-4 victory over FG Polo in the final. The prestigious event was organized by the Lahore Polo Club and drew a large number of polo fans and families.
The final proved to be a gripping battle from start to finish. Both teams showed excellent coordination and skill, but Diamond Paints/Master Paints kept their calm in the decisive moments. Their narrow one-goal advantage remained intact until the end of the match.
Amirreza Behbudi delivered an impressive performance, scoring three goals for the winning side. Facundo Retamar supported him well by adding two more goals. On the other hand, FG Polo fought bravely. Raul Laplacette struck three times, while Marcos Rivarola managed to score once. Despite their strong comeback attempts, FG Polo could not level the score.
The victory secured one of the world’s oldest sporting trophies for Diamond Paints/Master Paints. The Punjab Polo Cup, with a history of over 141 years, holds special importance in the polo world.
A prize ceremony followed the match. Amirreza Behbudi received the Man of the Match award for his outstanding contribution. The Best Pony title was awarded to “Selina,” owned by Sufi Muhammad Haroon.
Earlier, the Lahore Polo Club team claimed third place after defeating BN Polo with a comfortable margin.
Speaking after the win, captain Mir Huzaifa Ahmed said the team stayed focused under pressure and worked hard to achieve this proud moment.
