Aamir Jamal Fined for On-Field Conduct

Karachi Kings’ all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been fined for breaching the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct during a closely contested match against Peshawar Zalmi on Monday night at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.

The penalty, which amounts to 5% of his match fee, was issued for a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the PSL Code. This regulation addresses the use of language, gestures, or actions that could incite an aggressive response from a dismissed player.

The incident occurred in the 15th over of Zalmi’s innings. After dismissing batter Hussain Talat, Jamal was seen approaching him and making a comment considered inappropriate by match officials. On-field umpires Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel reported the conduct. Jamal accepted the charge and the sanction imposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.

Despite the disciplinary matter, the Kings managed to secure their third win of the tournament in dramatic fashion. Chasing a target of 148 on a testing pitch, they reached the total with only three balls to spare. Hasan Ali sealed the victory with a boundary on the leg side.

The Kings’ chase got off to a rocky start when opener Tim Seifert was dismissed on the first delivery by Luke Wood. James Vince also fell cheaply, leaving the side under pressure early on.

Captain Shan Warner played a stabilising role, scoring 60 off 47 deliveries. He formed valuable partnerships with Saad Baig, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Khushdil Shah.

After Warner was dismissed in the 17th over, the Kings found themselves at 133 for 8. However, Khushdil Shah guided the team home with an unbeaten 23 from 17 balls, including three crucial boundaries.

The Kings will face Quetta Gladiators in their next fixture at Gaddafi Stadium on April 25.
