Day 14 of the 2026 Winter Olympics is being held today, Friday, 20 February 2026. With the Closing Ceremony set for 22 February, the competition is reaching its final and most exciting stage. Six gold medals are being decided across major events.
One of the biggest highlights came in figure skating. American skater Alysa Liu won gold in the women’s single free skate. Her victory ended a 20-year gold medal drought for the United States in this event.
In women’s ice hockey, Team USA defeated Canada 2–1 in overtime to claim the gold medal. The intense match kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final goal was scored.
Speed skating also brought success for the United States. Jordan Stolz won a silver medal in the men’s 1500m race. This marks his third medal of the Games.
Attention is also on the men’s ice hockey semifinals. Team USA is scheduled to face Slovakia. The winning team will compete in the final against either Canada or Finland for the gold medal.
Other medal events today include the men’s 15km mass start biathlon, curling men’s bronze medal game, women’s 1500m speed skating, women’s 1500m short track speed skating, men’s freeski halfpipe, and the men’s 5000m short track relay.
Women’s curling semifinals are also taking place, with matchups decided after Thursday’s results.
