Women in Sindh will now receive enhanced financial assistance under the Mamta Program, as Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced an increase from Rs30,000 to Rs41,000.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sindh Social Protection Authority. Shah emphasized that the provincial government remains committed to empowering mothers through financial and healthcare support.

With World Bank backing, Sindh launched its Social Protection Delivery System in 2023, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2027. Under the Mamta Program, 770,000 women across 15 districts have already received benefits.

The scheme also provides access to medical facilities at more than 800 hospitals and dispensaries linked to the program. To widen its coverage, the Chief Minister approved the program’s expansion to seven additional districts.

Officials said the increase in cash support aims to ease financial burdens faced by mothers, especially in rural and flood-affected areas.
