During the hearing, the court questioned whether a wife’s age was a suitable cause for a second marriage.

The top justice stated that if women took comparable tactics, it would cause issues for society. The bench emphasized that no reason could substitute the legal duty to get authorization before marrying again.

The man married for the first time in 1999 and remarried in 2017. His lawyer informed the court that he had filed a claim to settle disputes with his first wife, but when asked whether this was done before or after the second marriage, the lawyer was unable to respond correctly.
