President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to enhancing cooperation with China, emphasizing the deep-rooted bond between the two nations. In a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Zardari highlighted the historical ties and mutual respect that underpin the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that this strong relationship serves as a cornerstone for regional peace, stability, and development.

Zardari expressed gratitude for President Xi’s support and congratulatory message on his re-election, acknowledging China’s pivotal role in advancing bilateral cooperation. Particularly, he lauded the progress made in various areas of collaboration, notably the

China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), stands as a testament to the robust strategic partnership between the two countries. The Pakistani President underscored that Pakistan and China are not just neighbors but steadfast allies committed to the success of their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He emphasized that President Xi’s continued support is crucial for the ongoing development of CPEC and the shared objectives of progress and prosperity for both nations.

This commitment to deepening ties was reciprocated by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang during his visit to Pakistan in 2013. Premier Li emphasized the strategic importance of China-Pakistan relations, highlighting the enduring nature of their friendship and the mutual benefits derived from comprehensive cooperation across various sectors.

In light of recent interactions between leaders from both countries, including President Xi’s congratulatory message to Zardari, it is evident that Pakistan and China remain dedicated to strengthening their partnership for mutual growth and regional stability.
