In a proactive move to combat the looming threat of smog-related health issues, the Punjab Government has announced a mandatory week-long requirement for wearing face masks in districts grappling with elevated pollution levels. Effective tomorrow, this crucial measure is specifically targeted at areas within Lahore and Gujranwala divisions, aiming to curb airborne diseases and safeguard public health across the province.

The official notification highlights the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the need for swift action to prevent and control air-borne diseases prevalent during the smog season. The designated districts, including Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin, are anticipated to register the highest Air Quality Index, necessitating this vital intervention.
