PM Firm Stance on Balochistan Issue and Terrorism

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has recently come under scrutiny for his conduct during a press conference addressing the Balochistan issue. Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have criticized Kakar for allegedly losing his temper and displaying an inappropriate attitude towards the protesting Baloch citizens. BNP President Akhter Mengal and PTI leader Raoof Hasan expressed their dismay over Kakar’s behavior, with Hasan highlighting Kakar’s alleged lack of empathy towards the Baloch protesters.

Kakar, in response, emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the issue of terrorism in Balochistan, alleging that separatists in the region are receiving funding from India’s RAW. He acknowledged the right to peaceful protest but firmly stated that terrorism would not be tolerated. Kakar also condemned the recent clashes in Islamabad involving protesters allegedly linked to separatist groups.

The caretaker prime minister’s strong stance against terrorism and his warning against those supporting terrorists under the guise of protest reflects the government’s prioritization of national security. Kakar’s remarks underscore the challenges faced by the interim government in addressing the complex issues of terrorism and separatism in the region.

As the country prepares for the upcoming elections on February 8, Kakar’s statements and actions are likely to influence the political discourse and public opinion. The caretaker prime minister’s firm approach to national security and his response to the Balochistan issue is expected to be closely monitored in the lead-up to the elections.
