Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar issued a stern warning to terrorist groups operating in the country, urging them to surrender unconditionally. Speaking during an interaction with the families of martyrs at the interior ministry in Islamabad, PM Kakar emphasized that the state would not engage in negotiations with terrorists who had committed acts of violence, causing harm to innocent citizens. He declared an unwavering commitment to the moral, Islamic, and constitutional correctness of the state’s stance against terrorism, asserting that there would be no leniency towards those who posed a threat to national security.

“The state is prepared to fight a thousand years if needed. No surrender, no retreat,” Prime Minister Kakar asserted, underscoring the government’s uncompromising position against terrorist elements. He made it clear that the only option available to these individuals was an unconditional surrender, emphasizing that the state would not entertain dialogue with those who had chosen the path of violence.

PM Kakar categorically stated that individuals would not be permitted to take the law into their own hands, emphasizing that the legitimate right to use armed force rested solely with the state through its security forces. He emphasized the clarity of the state’s stance against terrorism across all its organs, reiterating the unwavering commitment to persistently combat militancy.

In addressing the possibility of a terrorist renouncing their militant activities, PM Kakar highlighted the importance of seeking forgiveness from the families of martyrs who had paid the ultimate price for national security. While acknowledging the inability to compensate for the loss of loved ones, he expressed a commitment to acknowledging and honoring the invaluable sacrifices made by the martyrs.

During the event, PM Kakar inaugurated a memorial gallery displaying pictures of martyrs, paying tribute to heroes from various segments of society, including police, politicians, journalists, soldiers, and even children. The prime minister honored Additional Inspector General of Police Safwat Ghayur, who had been martyred by terrorists, by mounting his photograph on the memorial gallery wall.

Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti received PM Kakar upon his arrival at the Ministry of Interior, and a contingent of the Islamabad police presented the premier with a guard of honor. The family members of the martyrs, including senior politician and Awami National Party General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain, expressed gratitude to the caretaker government for recognizing and honoring the sacrifices made by the martyrs.

As the nation confronts the ongoing threat of terrorism, PM Kakar’s strong and unequivocal stance sends a clear message about the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. The resolute approach emphasizes the importance of national unity in the face of challenges posed by terrorist activities.
