Lahore: Panic gripped parts of Lahore once again on Thursday as residents reported a fresh wave of loud explosions in areas including Walton and Defence (DHA), marking another escalation in cross-border drone tensions.

According to initial reports, two drones were intercepted and downed by security forces in Walton, hours after a similar drone was brought down earlier in the day. Eyewitnesses in Naseerabad recounted hearing intense gunfire shortly after the first drone incursion.

Footage aired by Samaa TV showed clear visuals of security forces targeting and shooting down the drones in Walton. The drones were reportedly neutralized using anti-drone technology deployed across sensitive areas of the city.

Simultaneously, multiple loud blasts were heard across Walton and parts of DHA, sparking panic and a flood of calls to emergency services. The source of these explosions is believed to be linked to the downing of the drones, but official confirmation on the exact cause remains pending.

Further disturbances were reported near DHA Main Boulevard, where residents described successive explosive sounds and visible security activity. Authorities have launched an investigation into the origin and objectives of the downed drones.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military spokesperson confirmed that Indian drones had violated Pakistani airspace, prompting a robust response from defence forces. Citizens have been urged to stay calm, avoid rumor-mongering, and fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
