In 2023, Pakistan’s security forces achieved significant successes in their operations against terrorists, eliminating over 560 of them. The forces conducted 18,736 intelligence-based operations across the country, resulting in the deaths of 566 terrorists and the arrest of 5,161 others. The main commander of the banned Baloch National Army (BNA) also laid down his arms due to the security forces’ effective operations. However, more than 260 officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred in terrorist attacks during the past year, while over 1,000 Pakistanis sacrificed their lives while pledging allegiance to the country.

In Balochistan, 109 terrorists were killed in 15,063 operations, while 447 terrorists were killed in 1,492 operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10 terrorists were killed during 1,987 operations in Sindh, 190 operations were carried out in Punjab, and 14 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan has repeatedly pointed out that the dots of the recent wave of terrorism are connected to the sanctuaries of terrorists settled in Afghanistan. The Pakistan Army and the people are determined to continue the war until the end of the last terrorist.
