Pakistan’s military leadership has voiced deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Israel. During the 260th Corps Commander Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir extended Pakistan’s “diplomatic, moral, and political support” to the principled stance of the Palestinian people in the face of the conflict. This support underscores Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and its concern for the immense human cost resulting from the disproportionate use of force by Israel.

General Munir commended the resilience and determination of the Palestinians, whom he referred to as brothers, as they continue to seek a resolution to the long-standing issue of unlawful occupation and encroachment on their territories and sacred sites. This principled stance taken by the Pakistani military’s top brass reinforces the nation’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and their aspirations for justice and freedom.

Additionally, during the conference, participants offered their condolences and prayers for the martyrs of incidents in Mastung, Hangu, and Zhob that occurred during the Holy month of Rabiul Awwal. The forum also paid tribute to the unwavering sacrifices made by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies in the ongoing battle against terrorism.

The participants of the conference underscored their resolute commitment to dealing with all terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors who operate on behalf of hostile forces seeking to destabilize Pakistan. This commitment reflects Pakistan’s unwavering determination to ensure the safety and security of the nation against all threats, both direct and indirect.

The conference included briefings on the current geo-strategic environment and the evolving national security challenges. In response to these challenges, participants discussed their strategies for addressing these threats effectively.

The military leadership reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s dedication to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan, emphasizing their readiness to counter both direct and indirect threats to the nation.

In addition to addressing national security concerns, the conference participants expressed their full support for the strategic initiatives set forth by the caretaker government to revitalize Pakistan’s economy. This commitment aims to benefit the people of Pakistan and promote economic growth and stability.

The forum also conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing efforts to combat illegal economic activities. General Munir emphasized that Pakistan Army will continue to provide unwavering support to the government and law enforcement agencies in their efforts to combat illicit economic activities across the country. This includes robust actions against hoarding, smuggling mafias, and cartels operating in various domains to eliminate the negative impacts of such practices.

The conference participants resolved to fully support the federal government’s decision to repatriate and deport all illegal foreigners starting from November 1, 2023. General Munir directed all relevant stakeholders to facilitate the smooth, dignified, and secure repatriation and deportation of illegal foreigners.

General Munir stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and motivation during military operations and achieving excellence during the training of military formations. These efforts are vital to ensuring the continued security and stability of Pakistan.
