Pakistan has enforced a 48-hour closure of its airspace, suspending all domestic and international flights across the country as a precautionary security measure.

Aviation sources confirmed that Islamabad International Airport has been entirely shut down, and all incoming and outgoing flights are being redirected. Notably, Saudi Airlines flight SV-726, which was scheduled to land in Islamabad, has been rerouted to Karachi Airport.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has urged passengers to avoid coming to the airport and advised them to return home until further notice. Authorities stated that flight operations will only resume once the security situation stabilizes.

While no official reason has been provided for the sudden airspace closure, it is widely believed to be connected to heightened national security concerns following cross-border tensions.

Separately, Sialkot International Airport has also been temporarily closed in line with government directives. Airport officials confirmed that the suspension is a precautionary measure amid the ongoing security environment.

“The safety of passengers and airport personnel remains our top priority,” said an airport spokesperson, adding that updates will be issued as the situation progresses.

Both closures have added to travel disruptions across the country, with authorities monitoring developments closely.
