Operation Bunyan Marsoos, has claimed the successful destruction of India’s advanced S-400 air defense system stationed at Adampur Airbase in Punjab. The strike was reportedly carried out using hypersonic missiles launched by a JF-17 Thunder fighter jet of the Pakistan Air Force.
The Russian made S-400 Triumf system, valued at $1.5 billion, is considered one of India’s most advanced defense assets. India had signed a $5.43 billion deal with Russia in 2018 for five units, with three already deployed in key regions.
The strike was part of Pakistan’s retaliation following Indian missile attacks on Nur Khan, Shorkot, and Murid airbases. Pakistan also targeted the BrahMos missile depot, Pathankot airfield, and several supply and artillery positions in India.
Pakistan also reported the use of its Fateh-I surface to surface missiles, targeting installations reportedly involved in attacks on Pakistani civilians and religious sites.
Security sources claim a cyberattack accompanied the strike, disrupting power in major Indian cities. Pakistani drones were also reportedly spotted over New Delhi.
While Pakistan asserts the S-400’s destruction, the Indian Air Force has denied the claim, calling it false. The situation remains tense as both countries exchange fire and accusations.
