Punjab Declares State of Emergency Amid Indian Attacks, Schools Shut and Health Sector Mobilized

In response to escalating hostilities along the border, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has declared a state of emergency across the province, placing all law enforcement and administrative departments on high alert.

All district police units, civil defense forces, and local administrations have been directed to implement comprehensive security protocols. The chief minister emphasized that Punjab stands united with the nation in facing this grave situation.

“Protecting every inch of Pakistan is part of our faith and my oath,” said CM Maryam Nawaz. “The enemy attacked in May; we will respond like we did on May 28, 1998. With the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty, every child of this nation will rise to the occasion.”

Educational Institutions Closed

To prioritize public safety, the provincial government has ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab for today. All scheduled exams have been postponed until further notice.

Health Sector on Emergency Duty

In preparation for any emergency, the Punjab government has canceled all leaves for doctors and medical staff. Health workers have been instructed to report to their respective hospitals and centers immediately.

District Administrations Mobilized

All 36 districts of Punjab are now on full alert. Officers from Civil Defense and related departments have been summoned to ensure swift coordination and emergency readiness.

CM Maryam Nawaz stressed that this crisis is not merely a military standoff, but a test of the nation’s resolve and unity.

“This is not just a military confrontation; it is a national test of resilience, courage, and unity,” she added.
