Amid the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, former U.S. President Donald Trump has condemned the Indian military strikes on Pakistani territory, calling the attacks “shameful” in a brief statement issued late Tuesday.

Trump, who has been following the developments closely, said he had “heard about the clashes” and expressed concern over the Indian military’s decision to target sites across the border.

His remarks come shortly after the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) confirmed that India launched missile strikes on three separate locations within Pakistan’s borders — in a significant escalation of hostilities.

In a swift response, Pakistani forces launched retaliatory strikes on Indian positions, with official sources confirming that missiles were fired at “multiple strategic targets” inside India.

Security sources also stated that two Indian Rafale fighter jets were downed near Bahawalpur during the early hours of the operation. Pakistan has claimed all of its jets returned safely.

One of the Indian missile strikes reportedly hit a religious seminary in Bahawalpur, leaving at least 14 people injured. Victims were immediately transported to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The ISPR DG issued a firm warning to New Delhi in the wake of the attack, stating:

“India’s temporary happiness will be turned into permanent sorrow.”

Tensions remain high as the situation develops. Regional and international observers have expressed growing concern over the nuclear-armed neighbors’ deepening military confrontation.
