China has called for a large-scale and authoritative peace conference on the war in Gaza, while Hamas aired a video of three Israeli hostages and said their fate would be disclosed on Monday. Speaking in Egypt, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for “the formulation of a specific timetable and road map for the implementation of the ‘two-state solution’ and support for the prompt resumption of Israel-Palestinian peace talks.

“The Chinese government has urged a more authoritative and effective Israel-Palestine peace conference and road map to implement a two-state solution. A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday that the road map needed to be “binding.”Hamas aired a video on Sunday showing three Israeli hostages it is holding in Gaza and urged the prompt resumption of Israel-Palestinian peace talks. The updated 37-second video of Noa Argamani, 26, Yossi Sharabi, 53, and Itai Svirsky, 29, was released on the group’s Al-Aqsa TV channel. Israel says 132 hostages remain in Gaza, and 25 of them have died in captivity.

The Gaza health ministry has said almost 24,000 people have been killed in the Israeli offensive that followed, with more than 60,000 wounded. The escalation in the West Bank “goes hand in hand with Gaza war,” says the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Wasel Abu Yousef after five Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces on Sunday in the occupied territory.

China’s call for a specific road map for the implementation of a two-state solution comes amid a diplomatic push to end the conflict in Gaza. The Chinese government has urged a more authoritative and effective Israel-Palestine peace conference and road map to implement a two-state solution. The move is expected to have a significant impact on the region, as China is a major player in the Middle East and has significant economic and political influence in the region.

The fate of the Israeli hostages remains uncertain, and the situation in Gaza continues to escalate. The Chinese government’s call for a specific road map for the implementation of a two-state solution is a significant step towards resolving the conflict and achieving lasting peace in the region.
