Uzbekistan has introduced a visa-free stay of up to 30 days for citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, aiming to strengthen its growing tourism sector. The move, announced through a presidential decree, reflects the country’s broader strategy to attract more international visitors and enhance tourism services.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the visa waiver is part of Uzbekistan’s efforts to draw 15.8 million foreign tourists and generate $4 billion in tourism-related revenue by the end of 2025. The country is also targeting 40 million domestic tourists next year.

To support these goals, authorities plan to launch 378 new tour operators across the country. Additionally, Uzbekistan will celebrate International Tourism Week each November, promoting nationwide activities to showcase its cultural richness and heritage.

With cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, Uzbekistan offers a deep dive into the Silk Road era, featuring historical mosques, madrasahs, and bustling bazaars. The country has been investing in tourism infrastructure and promoting both eco and cultural tourism experiences.

As visa policies continue to ease, officials hope to position Uzbekistan as a major destination in Central Asia, appealing to travelers seeking history, adventure, and authentic cultural experiences in a welcoming environment.
