Saudi Cabinet Condemns Israel’s Expansion Plans

Saudi Arabia has rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s idea of a “Greater Israel,” saying the plan threatens regional stability and disregards Palestinian rights.

The condemnation came during a cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In its statement, the cabinet called on permanent members of the UN Security Council and the wider international community to take urgent measures to prevent further suffering of Palestinians.

The meeting denounced ongoing settlement construction in and around occupied Jerusalem, describing it as a direct challenge to international law. Ministers warned that the continuation of such policies could fuel more unrest across the region.

Reiterating its well-established position, Riyadh stressed that Palestinians must be granted the right to build an independent and sovereign state on their land. The cabinet underlined that peace efforts would only succeed if based on justice and recognition of these legal and historic claims.

Saudi Arabia has frequently voiced support for Palestinian statehood, viewing it as an essential step toward achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
