Pakistan, UAE Agree to Ease Work Visa Process

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to take joint steps to ease visa procedures for Pakistani citizens, with a special focus on work visas.

The agreement came during Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s official visit to Abu Dhabi, where he met with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Upon arrival at the UAE Ministry of Interior, Minister Naqvi was given a warm welcome and presented with a Guard of Honour.

The two leaders held detailed discussions on easing visa restrictions, enhancing cooperation in security, combating drug trafficking and smuggling, and curbing illegal immigration.

Both sides also expressed interest in strengthening ties through technology exchange, including the use of artificial intelligence for improving security operations.

The historic and friendly relationship between Pakistan and the UAE was reaffirmed, with both countries committed to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.

Minister Naqvi emphasised the important role Pakistani workers play in the UAE’s economy and called for simpler visa processes to help more Pakistanis seek employment there. He added that strong bilateral ties are a source of pride for Pakistan.

During his visit, Naqvi toured Abu Dhabi’s modern police operations centre and praised the UAE’s advanced policing and surveillance systems.
