Kuwait has officially lifted its 19-year visa ban on Pakistani nationals, opening doors for employment, family visits, tourism, and trade. The move is being welcomed as a significant step forward in strengthening ties and enhancing overseas work prospects for Pakistanis.

According to Mustafa Malik, the focal person at the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, Kuwait has resumed issuing various categories of visas to Pakistani citizens, including work, family, commercial, and tourist visas. All applications can now be submitted through an online platform. Malik noted that this development is expected to create thousands of new job opportunities and facilitate travel for both personal and professional purposes.

He also shared that Italy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakistan, which will allocate a fixed number of jobs annually for Pakistani workers. Several Arab countries are reportedly considering similar moves to attract skilled labor from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Japan has set an ambitious target to welcome 400,000 international students by 2033. To support this goal, Japanese authorities have eased visa processes, increased English-language degree programs, expanded scholarships, and introduced post-graduation work options such as the “Designated Visa.” Students interested in working in Japan are advised to attain at least N2 level proficiency in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), although bilingual candidates may also find broader opportunities.

With these international developments, Pakistanis may find broader access to global education and employment pathways in the years ahead.
