In a forceful statement amid ongoing Israel–Iran tensions, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz cautioned that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei should remember the outcome of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, who was overthrown and executed in 2003. Katz denounced Iran’s missile strikes on Israeli civilians as war crimes and threatened continued military action targeting regime and military sites in Tehran. He urged Iranian citizens to evacuate the capital while warning Khamenei directly:
“He would do well to remember the fate of the dictator… who chose this same path against the state of Israel.”

He stated that hundreds of Iranian civilians have been killed and accused the international community of failing to prevent these attacks on hospitals, homes, and public infrastructure.
Iran insists its actions are in self-defense and warned that regional stability hinges on an immediate end to Israeli military actions.
