Indonesia has said that it is prepared to send more than 20,000 peacekeepers to Gaza to assist restore peace and stability to the region. President Prabowo Subianto made the statement while addressing the United Nations General Assembly.

He stated that Indonesia has traditionally been one of the top contributors to UN peacekeeping missions and is willing to send soldiers to Gaza or any other place if the UN Security Council or General Assembly allow it.
President Subianto was also a passionate advocate for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. At the same time, he emphasized that long-term peace necessitates security assurances for Israel, arguing that genuine peace can only be achieved via mutual recognition and protection.

According to US media reports, the US is pressuring Arab and Muslim countries to play a more active role in Gaza peacekeeping. The goal is to aid Israel’s disengagement and maintain peace in the region while also funding the transfer of power in Palestine and future rehabilitation initiatives.
