Catherine, Princess of Wales once again showed her deep love for children during a special visit to Wales. Because of her strong work in early childhood development and her natural bond with young people, many now call her the “Children’s Princess.” The title reminds many of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who was lovingly known as the “People’s Princess.”
The touching moment happened at the Oriel Davies Art Gallery. The Princess met volunteers and refugee families from Syria and Afghanistan. During the visit, a young girl gifted her a handmade necklace. Instead of simply accepting it, Catherine gently bent down and allowed the child to place the necklace around her neck herself. The sweet gesture was captured on video and quickly gained attention.
People watching the event were moved by the Princess’s warm smile and kind reaction. She spoke kindly to the little girl and thanked her for the thoughtful gift. The simple act showed her caring and humble nature.
The visit took place ahead of St. David’s Day, celebrated on March 1. Catherine and Prince William both wore traditional daffodil pins to mark the occasion. Despite the rainy weather in Newtown, Powys, the royal couple spent time greeting people during a walkabout.
The Princess also shared playful moments with children waiting outside the gallery. At one point, she happily played rock, paper, scissors with young fans, bringing smiles to their faces.
Her visit highlighted community spirit and kindness. Once again, Catherine proved why many see her as a princess who truly connects with children and families.
