27th Ramadan Sees Massive Crowds at Masjid al-Haram for Laylat al-Qadr Prayers

Millions of worshippers gathered at Masjid al-Haram on the night of March 15, 2026, as the holy mosque reached full capacity during the 27th night of Ramadan. The night holds special spiritual importance for Muslims around the world because many believe it may be Laylat al-Qadr a sacred night described in the Quran as better than a thousand months.

The massive crowd filled the mosque and surrounding prayer areas as believers gathered for late-night prayers and worship. Due to the large number of people, authorities at the entrances of Masjid al-Haram had to regulate the flow of worshippers to ensure safety and manage the movement of pilgrims trying to enter the mosque.

Every year, the final ten nights of Ramadan attract huge numbers of visitors to Mecca. However, the 27th night is often the busiest night of the entire month. Many Muslims believe this night may be Laylat al-Qadr, when prayers and acts of worship carry immense spiritual rewards.

On this special night, the atmosphere around the Grand Mosque was filled with devotion and emotion. Worshippers performed long prayers, recited the Quran, and asked for forgiveness and blessings. The gathering reflected the deep faith and unity of Muslims who travel from different parts of the world to spend these sacred nights in Mecca.

During the night prayers, the emotional Dua-e-Qunoot was delivered by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al‑Sudais. His heartfelt supplication moved many worshippers, with thousands raising their hands in prayer inside the mosque.

Despite the huge crowds, the event remained peaceful and well organized. The remarkable scenes from Masjid al-Haram once again showed how the last nights of Ramadan bring together millions of believers seeking mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual closeness to Allah.
