The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms for Islamabad and several parts of northern Pakistan, while Karachi and much of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to endure hot and humid weather conditions in the coming days.

In its latest advisory, the PMD reported the possibility of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and even hailstorms in Islamabad and surrounding regions. Areas such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum are also expected to receive showers.

Rain is also likely in parts of Punjab, including Mianwali, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, and Lahore.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms may occur in Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Buner, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, and Karak. The Gilgit-Baltistan region is also expected to receive rain accompanied by thunder.

Meanwhile, most districts of Balochistan and Sindh, including Karachi, are likely to remain hot and dry, with temperatures in Karachi predicted to soar as high as 39°C. Humidity levels are forecasted to remain between 60–70%, which could make the heat feel significantly more intense.

Meteorological experts have warned that high humidity combined with soaring temperatures will create discomfort and heat stress, especially during daytime hours. Winds from the west to southwest are expected but are unlikely to bring much relief from the heat.

Additionally, the PMD has forecast above-normal rainfall for the upcoming Monsoon 2025 season, raising hopes for more widespread rain in the coming weeks.
