A powerful storm struck Islamabad on Sunday evening, bringing heavy rain, hail, and strong winds that disrupted daily life across the city.
The extreme weather caused widespread power outages as several feeders tripped, leaving many neighbourhoods without electricity. Internet services were also affected, and traffic came to a standstill on major roads due to fallen trees, debris, and malfunctioning traffic signals.
Metal sheets and tree branches littered the streets, adding to the damage and creating hazards for motorists. Waterlogging was reported in several parts of the city, further slowing down movement during peak evening hours.

This was the second such storm to hit the region in just four days. On Thursday, a similar weather system impacted Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other cities, leaving several people injured and damaging homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
Authorities have urged residents to remain indoors during storms and to contact emergency services in case of power failures or blocked roads. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned of more unstable weather patterns in the coming days.
