According to PTA, unregistered phones pose serious risks to national security and are often linked to financial crimes and cyber fraud. The authority emphasized that possession, sale, or use of such devices is illegal under current regulations and could lead to penalties.
Officials further urged the public not to purchase or sell unregistered mobile phones, explaining that such devices are not recognized by the official system and therefore cannot be operated legally. Consumers were warned that using unregistered handsets may result in blocked services and legal consequences.
