Instagram has launched a new “Ring” awards program to honor creators who are shaping digital culture. The initiative will recognize 25 top creators worldwide, giving each a custom designed gold ring by British designer Grace Wales Bonner. Winners will also get a digital golden ring displayed around their Instagram profile, showing their status as influential creators.

The judging panel features big names including Instagram Head Adam Mosseri, filmmaker Spike Lee, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee, actress Yara Shahidi, and makeup artist Pat McGrath. Instagram says the award celebrates creators who take risks, think creatively, and connect communities through their content.
Although the award is prestigious, it does not come with any cash prize. Instead, winners will get special creative tools, such as a custom “Like” button for their posts. This reflects Instagram’s focus on reputation and influence rather than financial rewards, especially as Meta has reduced other creator payouts and incentive programs in recent years.

The Ring Award is seen as Instagram’s way of encouraging creativity amid changes in the social media economy. With fewer brand deals for smaller creators, the symbolic recognition highlights the platform’s effort to value top talent and celebrate content creators in a unique way, similar to the “Oscars” for digital creators.
