Bollywood icon and Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan has made headlines by signing two Pakistani cricketers for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season, despite continued political tensions between India and Pakistan.

As per media reports, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir and emerging off-spinner Mohammad Usman Tariq have been added to the TKR squad. The move has attracted attention due to the rare inclusion of Pakistani players in leagues owned by Indian stakeholders.

Mohammad Amir, who retired from international cricket in 2020, brings considerable CPL experience to the team. Over four seasons, he has taken 51 wickets in 39 matches, maintaining an impressive bowling average of 18.09.

In contrast, Mohammad Usman Tariq is set to make his CPL debut. The young spinner gained recognition during the most recent Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he claimed 10 wickets in only five appearances for Quetta Gladiators.

Shah Rukh Khan, a long-time advocate of cricket and franchise sports, owns multiple teams, including Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and the Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL. Under his ownership, TKR has become one of the most decorated teams in the league, securing the title four times.
