Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as one of the four official ambassadors for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

He will be joined by India’s Shikhar Dhawan, Australia’s Shane Watson, and New Zealand’s Tim Southee in promoting the tournament.

Sarfaraz, who led Pakistan to their first-ever Champions Trophy title with a commanding victory over India in 2017, expressed his delight at being given the role.

He recalled how winning the prestigious title and donning the white jackets had been an unforgettable experience.

He said that witnessing the nation unite in celebration was a cherished memory and said he was pleased to see the tournament return, especially with Pakistan hosting the event.

The ambassadors are set to provide insights through guest columns and match appearances.

Watson called the Champions Trophy unique with unforgettable moments, while Dhawan stressed its high-pressure nature, where one mistake could be decisive.

The tournament will feature 15 matches across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, with India’s matches taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan will play New Zealand in the opener on February 19, while their much-anticipated clash with India is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
