Rohit Sharma Wife Ritika Faces Backlash Over Yuzvendra Chahal Remark

Ritika Sajdeh, wife of former India cricket captain Rohit Sharma, is facing strong criticism on social media after calling leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal a “cartoon” during a recent appearance on a YouTube talk show.

The comment was made during a light segment in which the hosts presented photographs of Indian cricketers, inviting Ritika and Rohit to share their initial reactions. When Shikhar Dhawan’s picture was shown, Rohit responded with “Jatt.” However, when Chahal’s image appeared, Ritika immediately referred to him as a “cartoon,” adding that he usually behaves like one. Rohit did not respond at that moment.

Although the exchange appeared playful, a number of cricket fans found Ritika’s remark disrespectful. A short clip from the show was widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter), with many users accusing her of mocking a fellow professional. One post questioned whether a similar comment from actor Anushka Sharma would have received the same reaction, highlighting a perceived double standard.

Several users demanded a public apology, arguing that public figures should be mindful of their words, especially when speaking about fellow athletes. One comment read, “Such a shame, she herself looks like a cartoon,” while another labelled her words “uncalled for.”

Chahal, known for his lively and humorous personality, has not responded to the controversy.
