Pakistan Storm into Super 8s with 102-Run Win Over Namibia

Pakistan sealed their place in the Super 8 stage with a strong 102-run victory over Namibia in Colombo. After facing heavy criticism following a big defeat to India, the team responded with an impressive all round performance.

Batting first after winning the toss at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Pakistan posted a big total of 199 for 3 in their 20 overs. The start was steady, with 47 runs scored in the powerplay after the early loss of Saim Ayub. At one stage, the scoring rate looked slow at 55 for 1. However, the momentum quickly changed.

Salman Agha began the acceleration with a powerful six off Willem Myburgh. Soon after, Farhan took control of the innings. He attacked the bowlers confidently and played a brilliant knock. Farhan scored a stunning 100 runs from just 58 balls. His innings included 11 fours and four sixes. He reached his century in style and remained unbeaten. Shadab Khan added the final touch with two big sixes at the end. Sahibzada Farhan was named Man of the Match.

In reply, Namibia struggled from the beginning. Pakistan’s bowlers kept tight control and did not allow easy runs. Usman Tariq delivered an outstanding spell, taking 4 wickets for just 16 runs. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz also supported well with disciplined bowling.

Namibia were bowled out for only 97 runs. They were already eliminated from the tournament and could not recover from early wickets.

With this convincing win, Pakistan move confidently into the Super 8s stage of the tournament, showing strong form at the right time.
