A six-wicket victory for New Zealand over South Africa has turned the upcoming game between Pakistan and South Africa into a virtual semi-final, as they have won both games.

The Black Caps defeated the home side by 78 runs in their opening game of the tri-nation series after a fantastic batting display from Glenn Phillips, who scored an unbeaten 106.

The Kiwis then stunned South Africa in their second match, chasing down a mammoth total of 305 runs with the loss of just four wickets at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Kane Williamson scored 133 runs from 113 balls, while Devon Conway contributed 97 runs from 107 balls, helping New Zealand secure a place in the final.

In the third game of the tri-nation series, hosts Pakistan will lock horns with South Africa at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on February 12.

The winner of the Pakistan vs. South Africa match will advance to the final, where they will face unbeaten New Zealand at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on February 14.
