Asian Cricket Council Chairman Mohsin Naqvi strongly rejected Indian media reports claiming he apologised to the BCCI over the Asia Cup trophy row. He called the news “fabricated, nonsense and cheap propaganda,” adding that he has never apologised and never will.

Naqvi criticised India for dragging politics into cricket and said this behaviour damages the spirit of the game. He clarified that he was ready to present the trophy on the final day and is still ready to hand it over if the Indian team collects it from the ACC office.
The controversy began when Indian players refused to receive the Asia Cup trophy from Naqvi. During a recent ACC meeting in Dubai, he dismissed repeated demands by BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla to transfer the trophy. Naqvi insisted that only the Indian captain should collect it in person.

Sources said BCCI officials reacted angrily, asking for the trophy to be sent to the ICC headquarters instead. Other members of the ACC tried to calm the situation, but the Indian delegation abruptly left the meeting. A final decision on the matter has not yet been taken.
