Karachi Kings have made key additions to their squad for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), naming Australian wicketkeeper-batter Ben McDermott and Pakistan U19 captain Saad Baig as partial replacements.
The changes come after injuries to overseas players forced the franchise to adjust their plans just days before the tournament opener.
McDermott replaces Bangladesh’s Litton Das, who was ruled out of the initial stages following an injury during pre-tournament training.
Medical scans confirmed a hairline fracture, sidelining Das temporarily.

McDermott, known for his explosive batting and consistent performances in T20 leagues such as Australia’s Big Bash League and England’s The Hundred, brings valuable experience to Karachi’s batting line-up.
Meanwhile, teenage sensation Saad Baig has been drafted in as a temporary replacement for New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who is unavailable for the Karachi leg of the tournament.
Williamson, initially listed in the Supplementary Category, may return later in the season depending on his fitness.
Baig, who led Pakistan at the recent ICC U19 World Cup and previously featured in the Kings’ Emerging Category squad, is regarded as one of the most promising young players in the country.

Both McDermott and Baig have been signed on a partial basis, which allows the original players to rejoin the squad if cleared to play.
Karachi Kings will begin their PSL 10 campaign on Saturday, April 12, against Multan Sultans at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The match, scheduled for 8 PM local time, is expected to draw strong interest as the revamped Kings look to start their season on a high.
