Pakistani fast bowler, Haris Rauf, has expressed optimism about his fitness as preparations continue for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The marquee event is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, with the hosts taking on New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Rauf resumed training after a lower chest wall sprain in opening match of the tri-nation series with New Zealand and South Africa.

The injury had prompted the Pakistan Cricket Board to call up left-arm pacer Akif Javed as a replacement for the remainder of the series.

Speaking to the media, Rauf conveyed his satisfaction with his recovery, indicating that he was not experiencing any pain.

The right-arm fast bowler added that he had practiced for two days and bowled without discomfort.

However, he stressed that the final decision regarding his participation in the event opener against New Zealand would be made by the management.

Rauf also commented on bowling strategy, explaining that their unit was not reliant solely on a single specialist spinner.

He noted that all-rounders Khushdil Shah and Agha Salman could also contribute with spin, depending on match conditions.

The pacer bowled alongside fellow seamers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain during the session, suggesting progress in his recovery.
