Gladiators Storm Past Sultans with Record-Breaking Victory

Quetta Gladiators delivered a crushing blow to Multan Sultans in the 18th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, securing a 10-wicket win at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday. The emphatic victory not only earned them two points but also significantly boosted their net run rate.

Set a modest target of 90, Quetta’s openers wasted no time. Finn Allen launched a brutal assault in the second over, collecting 17 runs off David Willey with two sixes and a four. Together with Saud Shakeel, he carried the side to a comfortable finish with 79 balls remaining — the largest victory by balls to spare in PSL history.

Allen remained unbeaten on 45 off 21 balls, while Shakeel added a rapid 42 not out from 20 deliveries. The duo’s aggressive approach ensured Multan’s bowlers had little chance to recover.

Earlier, Multan Sultans suffered a collapse after choosing to bat. Faheem Ashraf removed Iftikhar Ahmed for six, while Michael Bracewell departed without scoring. With wickets falling rapidly, the side slumped to 43 for 6 within 10 overs.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan showed resistance with a 44-run knock but found no support at the other end. His dismissal by Ubaid Shah ended the innings at just 89 runs in 17 overs — their lowest total this season.

Following this result, Quetta climbed to second on the points table, while Multan dropped to the bottom with only one win in seven matches.
