The third day of the fourth Test between India and England at Old Trafford began with a special moment as former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram rang the traditional five-minute bell. This ceremonial duty, which marks the start of play, is reserved for legendary cricketers or notable figures in the sport and is intended to engage spectators before the day’s action begins.

On the second day, the honour was given to former England batsman Neil Fairbrother. The series began with a joint bell-ringing by West Indies great Clive Lloyd and former Indian wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer. Their contributions to Lancashire County Cricket Club were also recognised with a new stand at Old Trafford named in their honour.

As the match progressed into its third day, both teams remained determined to gain the upper hand in a tightly contested five-match series. England currently leads 2-1, having secured victories at Headingley and Lord’s. India, however, produced a dominant performance in the second Test at Edgbaston, winning by a massive 336 runs.

The series has captured the attention of cricket fans worldwide, with every match producing dramatic swings in momentum. The ongoing fourth Test is crucial for India, who are aiming to level the series, while England is pushing to seal the series with another win.
