Mohammad Hafeez criticized Babar Azam for his underperformance in six-wicket defeat to India in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Hafeez, in his remarks, questioned the ability of Babar to deliver in high-pressure games, especially in matches against India.

Hafeez noted that despite his talent, 23 runs off 26 balls against India still lacked a match-winning performance.

He drew comparisons with past Pakistani cricketers, highlighting their significant contributions in crucial moments against India.

Hafeez highlighted performances of Shoaib Akhtar, Younis Khan, and Shoaib Malik in high-stakes matches, suggesting Babar’s record fell short.

Hafeez criticized his record in overseas conditions, contrasting it with the success of  Inzamam in tough environments like Australia and England.

He called for introspection, suggesting it might be time to give emerging talents a chance in challenging circumstances.

After defeats to India and New Zealand, Pakistan is in jeopardy as they face Bangladesh in their final group match on February 27.
