Faheem Ashraf, Quetta Gladiators’ all-rounder, is focused on staying consistent in the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 and hopes strong domestic performances will earn him a return to the national team.

Reflecting on his switch from Islamabad United to Quetta, the 31-year-old said the team may have changed, but his mindset hasn’t.

His goal, he stressed, remains to help his side win matches and reach the finals—while also using the platform to prove his readiness for Pakistan duty.

Faheem, who bowls right-arm pace, praised the PSL for its role in developing local talent.

He described the tournament as Pakistan’s biggest sporting brand, adding that it has boosted players both financially and professionally.

Despite a slightly low-key atmosphere this season, he felt that experienced cricketers were stepping up to revive fan interest.

Commenting on modern T20 trends, Faheem acknowledged that the format is increasingly challenging for bowlers.

He shared that he has begun to enjoy batting more, as high-scoring games have become common across leagues—including the PSL.

According to him, Pakistani players are just as capable of explosive performances as those in international leagues like the IPL.

The Gladiators started their campaign strongly with a convincing win over Peshawar Zalmi, defending a total of 217 and dismissing the opposition for 136 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

However, they stumbled in their second outing against Lahore Qalandars, conceding 220 runs and being bowled out for 140.

Quetta will now look to bounce back in their next fixture against Karachi Kings, scheduled for April 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
