Pakistan’s star batter and former captain, Babar Azam, has performed Umrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, during Ramadan.
He was seen attending iftar at Masjid Al Haram, with visuals shared on Instagram by his brother, Safeer Azam.
The video captured Babar enjoying a date near the Kaaba, while another post featured multiple pictures with the hashtag “Umrah 2025,” confirming their pilgrimage.
This is not the first time Babar has visited the holy sites during Ramadan, as he had also performed Umrah in 2024.
While his spiritual journey continues, his on-field performances have faced increasing scrutiny.
Since his commanding 151-run innings against Nepal in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023, the 30-year-old has struggled to maintain consistency.
His promotion to the opening slot in the recent tri-nation ODI series and the Champions Trophy failed to deliver results, with modest scores across five innings.
Pakistan is set to embark on a New Zealand tour from March 16 to April 5, featuring five T20Is and three ODIs.
The newly announced squad has seen significant changes, with Salman Ali Agha replacing Mohammad Rizwan as T20I captain, while senior players, including Babar, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah, have been omitted from the T20I squad.
