Lahore Qalandars’ seasoned left-arm spinner Asif Afridi is aiming to set a unique record in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 by bowling the most dot balls and conceding the fewest boundaries.
In a conversation with Geo News, the 38-year-old revealed that he is determined to make his mark through consistent and disciplined bowling.
Despite suffering from the aftereffects of an eye injury, Afridi said his focus sharpens once he steps onto the field.
He admitted that the pain, especially while running, persists, but his concentration shifts entirely to the match once play begins.

Afridi credited his love for cricket as the driving force behind his resilience, noting that physical discomfort becomes irrelevant when he is on the pitch.
He emphasised that his primary aim is to limit batters by delivering tightly controlled overs.
Commenting on the evolving nature of T20 cricket, Afridi pointed out that bowlers now face greater pressure due to increasingly aggressive batting styles.
He explained that rather than planning for the entire match, he breaks his approach down delivery by delivery — a strategy that, he believes, helps him remain effective under pressure.
Speaking about Lahore Qalandars’ recent performance, Afridi sounded optimistic following the team’s latest victory.

He hoped that the momentum would continue in their upcoming match against Karachi Kings in Karachi.
He also praised the team’s unity, describing the dressing room atmosphere as positive and supportive.
According to Afridi, such team spirit plays a crucial role in maintaining high morale.
Responding to questions about his age, the veteran spinner said performance comes from effort, not numbers.
As long as he continues to give his best, he believes age will never be a barrier to success.
