The ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 has started in Bangkok, Thailand, and will continue until February 22, 2026. The tournament brings together eight teams from across Asia. It was previously known as the Emerging Teams Asia Cup but now features both “A” teams and senior national sides.
This year, the participating teams include India ‘A’, Pakistan ‘A’, Bangladesh ‘A’, and Sri Lanka ‘A’. They are joined by the senior teams of Nepal, UAE, Malaysia, and host nation Thailand. The event is seen as an important platform for young and developing players to show their skills at the international level.
Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ team begins its campaign today (Friday) against Nepal in their first Group A match. The game will start at 7:30am PST in Bangkok. After facing Nepal, Pakistan will take on India ‘A’ on February 15. Their third group match will be against the UAE on February 17.
Group B includes Bangladesh ‘A’, Sri Lanka ‘A’, Malaysia, and Thailand. The top two teams from each group will move to the semifinals on February 20. The final match of the tournament is scheduled for February 22.
Right-handed batter Hafsa Khalid will lead Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ team. She takes over the captaincy after Umm-e-Hani was promoted to the national T20I squad. Omaima Sohail has been added to the team as her replacement.
The squad includes experienced names like Shawaal Zulfiqar, Omaima Sohail, and Waheeda Akhtar. Young Under-19 players Komal Khan and Eman Naseer are also part of the team. The players recently completed a two-week training camp under head coach Mohammad Masroor.
Captain Hafsa Khalid said the tournament is a great chance for the team to learn, grow, and prove their talent on an international stage.
