POLICE KILL YOUTH A DAY BEFORE HIS MARRIAGE
POLICE KILL YOUTH A DAY BEFORE HIS MARRIAGE

In a heartbreaking incident, the Punjab police have once again come under fire for opening fire on innocent teenagers, killing two of them and leaving one injured in Multan. The victims were on their way back home after having dinner at a hotel when they were fatally shot by the police.

According to the police, the teenagers had no criminal record, yet they were still targeted. The injured brother of one of the deceased victims, Irfan, stated that they were on their way to drop off their friend, Samiullah when the police suddenly opened fire from behind. A single bullet went through his brother and Samiullah, resulting in their untimely deaths.

Irfan further alleged that the policemen claimed that someone else had fired from behind, and they did not even try to help take the injured teenagers to the hospital. He also expressed his ability to identify the three police officials responsible for the killing of his brother. The wounded brother further added that:

“it was his brother’s wedding day, and justice must be served for their family“

The incident has sparked outrage across the country, with many calling for an immediate investigation and the punishment of the officers responsible for this heinous crime. The government has assured the public that they will not tolerate such actions from the police, and strict action will be taken against those responsible.

It is not the first time that the Punjab police have been accused of using excessive force against innocent civilians. In recent years, there have been several incidents where police officers have killed or injured unarmed individuals, resulting in public protests and demands for police reform.

The tragic incident in Multan highlights the urgent need for police reform in the country. The police must be held accountable for their actions, and there must be an independent mechanism to investigate complaints of police brutality and excessive use of force.

The killing of two innocent teenagers by the Punjab police is a tragic reminder of the urgent need for police reform in Pakistan. The government must take immediate action to hold the police accountable and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
