Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has stated that Imran Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, could potentially face a military court trial if concrete evidence is discovered against him. According to ARY News, Sanaullah emphasized that Imran Khan’s trial falls within the purview of the Army Act, and if substantial evidence of his involvement in planning attacks on military installations is found, the trial could be conducted under this act.

Rana Sanaullah further highlighted that individuals who trespass on military installations should be subject to trial under the Army Act. In response to inquiries regarding a potential ban on the PTI, the Interior Minister revealed that evidence is currently being collected to support such action, with an anonymous team deliberating on the matter.

Providing an update on the investigations into the events of May 9, Sanaullah stated that a total of 499 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered. Out of these, six cases have the potential to be tried under the Army Act. Additionally, 23 individuals have already been handed over to the military authorities for further action.

It is worth mentioning that Rana Sanaullah has held former Prime Minister Imran Khan responsible for the attacks on military installations. In a separate event, Sanaullah inaugurated a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Faisalabad, emphasizing the benefits it will bring to the local residents.

Addressing the political situation, Sanaullah criticized Imran Khan for his history of engaging in sit-ins and long marches, as well as for allegedly victimizing his political opponents during his time in government.

As the investigation into the May 9 events continues, the possibility of Imran Khan facing a military court trial has raised significant attention. The remarks made by Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah have added to the ongoing political discourse surrounding the PTI and its leadership.
