Starlink secures a temporary NOC in Pakistan, paving the way for high-speed satellite internet, improved connectivity, and nationwide digital transformation.
Elon Musk’s Starlink approaches its start in Pakistan.  They have completed their registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and were granted a temporary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the government of Pakistan.

Starlink can change access to the Internet, especially in distant places. To work in Pakistan, Starlink will now have to get extensive documentation and permits, including Long Distance and International (LDI).

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) examined these enquiries. The approval process was complicated because of concerns about potential intervention between non-Starlink satellite systems and existing geostationary networks, but Starlink successfully convinced the Government of Pakistan and got a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Pakistan’s space regulatory policies, including the national policy of 2023 and the Pakistani space activities, demand harmony between the federal government and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).

Before starting on the groundwork, Starlink will have to conduct various security and technical tests. Starlink has the best opportunity to improve the internet in Pakistan, but it depends on the concerned authorities to seek relevant permissions and ensure that everything aligns.

As NOC has been granted, Starlink will help many people easily connect to the internet! Starlink, a satellite internet provider, wants to set up a special station to quickly improve the internet in Pakistan.

These stations will be in touch with satellites in the sky to bring high-speed internet to the general public.

Starlink could greatly improve the Internet connectivity throughout Pakistan. This will help multiple stakeholders like schools, jobs, and people online. But first, they need to upgrade some technical infrastructure and follow all sets of rules and regulations.

People in Pakistan are agitated about Starlink because it can bring high-speed internet to places where it’s not, similar to townlets and small metropolises. Starlink and Pakistani authorities disseminated a major meeting in Barcelona in 2025, where they bandied about how to ameliorate the Internet for everyone in Pakistan.

Starlink plans to set up several ground stations all over Pakistan to improve internet connection.

These stations directly support satellite communication and offer better Internet services to consumers. However, these projects were based on government permits and security approval, and Starlink is focused on obtaining final approvals. Once fully operational, it is expected that Starlink will have a progressive impact on Pakistan.

Factor Details
Implementation Stage Starlink is registered with SECP.
Legal Challenges Needs LDI and other permits.
Technical Prerequisites Must pass security and technical checks as per Pakistan’s space policies.
Development Strategy Plans to set up ground stations for better satellite communication.
