The 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal is being celebrated today with devotion and enthusiasm across the country, particularly in Karachi. Streets, mosques, and neighborhoods are decorated with colorful lights, green flags, and images of the Green Dome of Masjid-e-Nabvi, while the sound of Durood-o-Salaam and Na’at recitations fills the air. Communities in Burns Road, MA Jinnah Road, Kharadar, Lyari, and Liaquatabad are distributing food and sherbet to mark the blessed occasion.

The main procession will start from New Memon Mosque at Bolton Market after Zuhr prayers and conclude at Nishtar Park, where a grand Milad-e-Mustafa Conference will be addressed by religious scholars.
Participants will showcase their devotion in unique ways, with some riding horses and camels in Arabic attire and children dressed in fairy costumes reciting Na’ats. Religious groups, including Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat and Sunni Tehreek, have set up camps along the routes to facilitate attendees.
Strict security measures have been taken by Karachi police, with more than 4,400 personnel deployed across the city. Officers are stationed along the main procession routes, at entry points, and at Nishtar Park. Traffic police are ensuring smooth vehicle flow, while CCTV cameras are monitoring the gatherings. Volunteers and scouts are also assisting in managing the processions.

Across the city, mosques and religious centers are holding Seerat-un-Nabi conferences, Na’at recitals, and night-long gatherings for Qasida Burda Sharif and Durood Shareef. Religious leaders have urged participants to cooperate with authorities, follow the schedule, and uphold the spirit of peace and devotion as they express their love for the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).
