The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has issued a weather alert for thunderstorms, rain, and dust storms across most districts—including Lahore—starting Wednesday and continuing through May 4.

The alert was issued following instructions from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. In response, all relevant departments—like education, health, irrigation, communication, and livestock—have been asked to stay on high alert. Emergency services like WASA, the police, and Civil Defense have also been told to stay prepared.
People are strongly advised to stay indoors during the storms and avoid open areas to stay safe from lightning. If you face any emergencies, you can call the PDMA helpline at 1129.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is also expecting a similar weather spell starting Thursday and lasting until May 4. Thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecasted across areas including Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Peshawar. Tribal regions like Bajaur, Mohmand, and Waziristan are also on the alert.
PDMA KP has advised local authorities to be ready and ensure all emergency response plans are in place to manage any situation effectively.
